We rented the lodge at Hawk Woods with some other families to share a meal and enjoy a full harvest moon lantern walk. Here's the kids lanterns lined up on the hearth.
The beautiful scenery around the pond at the nature center.
What's more fun than throwing rocks in the water with your two best friends?
The kids wanted ice cream and cookies for breakfast, so I made them ice cream and cookies. The cookies were almond, flax oatmeal breakfast cookies and I cooked them in a pan instead of the oven. And the ice cream was frozen banana, avacado and cocoa powder mixed up in my food processor. All with some maple sweetened roasted coconut flakes on top!
Our morning garden harvest. It's a soup making day!

What should we do with the large boxes that a couple of packages came in? Let's make our own playmats!

And Sophie saying she's all done!
Today, we are celebrating Michaelmas. However, we are also in the midst of reading the Dragon Keepers series of books. For Michaelmas, you are supposed to celebrate the slaying of the Dragon by St. George, but in the Dragon Keepers books, St. George is the bad guy and the dragons are good. So we are basically celebrating dragons instead.
The kids are making Dragon Bread (and Sophie made a duckie.)
Sophie's duckie bread.
Jason's dragon bread.

I figured out if you put a IKEA paper roll holder in the middle of the IKEA easel, you now have an easel for two! And a paper roll for each one!
